MSC CRUISES SHARES MUSICA DESIGN DETAILS

Genoa (February 23, 2005) - based De Jorio Design International will blend Art Nouveau and Art Deco with high tech and contemporary styles in its vision for the largest vessel of MSC Cruises.

MSC Musica is under construction at Alstom Chantiers de l’Atlantique for introduction in Spring 2006. The ship will debut in Europe and then operate in the Caribbean in Winter 06/07. The Panamax vessel is a new design with 1,300 passenger cabins and more than 242,000sq ft of public areas. Eighty-five percent of the accommodations are outsides, and 65% of all cabins sport balconies.

A three-deck waterfall will serve as the focal point of the central foyer, where a piano will give the illusion of floating in the air. MSC Musica’s entertainment venues will include a three-deck theater seating 1,200, a music hall, a panoramic disco and a versatile show lounge that can double as a theater or conference room. Locations for small jam sessions, classical duets, small orchestras and karaoke will be located throughout the ship.

Dining venues include the panoramic Garden Restaurant with columns and frescoed ceilings, a sushi bar with Zen garden and a self-service pizza and grill cafeteria seating more than 600. Lounges will range from a ‘cyber cigar room’ to a wine tasting bar.

The 13,000 square foot spa will provide space for aerobics and yoga and such treatments as aromatherapy, thalassotherapy, chromotherapeutic hydro-massage and a Turkish bath. Other rooms include a large casino, shops, a library, art gallery and children’s playroom.
